Click on the link to read the first part of this article on how to cure panic attacks…
The key to deal with panic attacks is to utilize the concept of raising acceptance. It is crucial that you understand this idea because treatment for anxiety disorder and panic attacks is based on it.
What we’re trying to do here is to reinvent the way you approach fearful thoughts. Instead of constantly analyzing them in your head and trying to either escape or fight with them, you are going to accept them as they are. I know, it sounds controversial but let me explain what I mean.
End panic attacks by moving in the same direction as fear
The key to living a stress free life is flowing with the thoughts instead of resisting them. The attitude of acceptance disarms the emotional reaction we have towards the anxious thoughts and reduces the amount of stress and worries they cause.
If you try to “cope” with the fearful thoughts by suppressing them, they will reappear more frequently and with greater power. It’s the exact same principle that can be observed in the “pink elephant” story. If you would forbid somebody to think about pink elephants, guess what would that person immediately think of? Exactly! Pink elephants!
That is why fighting anxious thoughts is the worst cure for panic attacks.
Talk to yourself
I hope you see my point now. So the next time a fearful thought pops into your head, instead of trying to get rid of it say something like this:
“Oh, it’s the fear of X again. I could spend my entire day worrying about it, but this time I will try a different approach. I will simply let it exist without reacting to it or trying to fight it. If it wants, it can stay, if not, even better. Now, let me get back to what I’ve been doing before.”
I can’t explain all of the techniques on how to treat panic attacks in this 2-part article because I want to keep it short and concise. However, if you want to discover more cures for panic attacks, I encourage you to check other posts on this website as each of them contains priceless information.
